Meet Shannon Lavender
I started event planning straight after University when I worked in promotions and event coordination at a renowned sports agency in Cape Town. I built a rapport with some of the players and had the privilege of beginning to assist Siya Kolisi and his fiancé at the time, Rachel, in planning their wedding. This is where my passion for wedding planning developed, and it inspired me to want to pursue it full-time. I left the agency to start Lavender Creations in August 2016, with Siya and Rachel Kolisi’s wedding being my very first event. It was a dream come true, a dream job, and a dream wedding, and Lavender Creations has blossomed ever since.
I love seeing the joy that each wedding brings, and witnessing the memories that friends and loved ones make - memories that will be cherished for a lifetime. What I enjoy most is being able to take a bride and groom’s vision and translate it into a tangible event, guiding, and often advising them, in the many months leading up to their special day. I love getting to know each couple, many of whom have become my close friends through the process.
